October 19, 1943 — June 21, 2020

Yolanda Nunez Valdovinos was born at Guadalupe Chihuahua Mexico on 10/19/1943. She was the 3rd of 7 children to Lalo and Adela Nunez. She never liked school and went to maybe the 3rd grade. She was crowned the towns queen at the age of 15. Yolanda came to California at the age of 16 where she than lived with her aunt Rebecca and worked as a house keeper for 50 years and built very special and personal relationships with her employers The Millers, who adored her, and she worked for them until both the wife and husband passed. She also worked for Dr. and Carmel Nathan until she retired at 65. Yolanda married Arturo Valdovinos 6/8/1968 at Our Lady of Pilar in Santa Ana, they had 3 children Sandra, Laura and Art Jr. They lost their daughter Sandra at the young age of 15. Yolanda suffered much from her daughter’s loss. She and Arturo were married 38 years until his death in 2006. She is now reunited with her daughter Sandra and her husband in heaven. Yolanda was a grandmother to 4 grandchildren; Karina, Christian, Lily and Abby. She became a great-grandmother to Desiree who is 2 months old. Yolanda attended Immaculate Heart of Mary parish and her children attended catholic school there. She then brought two of her grandchildren to catechism here at Holy Spirit. Yolanda was asked by many and was honored to be Godmother to their children. Yolanda loved going out to dances and enjoyed 50’s and 60’s music; The Ronnets, The Shirelles, The Supremes and The Beatles. She also loved her Spanish music; Sonora Santanera, Juan Gabriel and Rocio Durcal. Yolanda liked to garden, loved plants, keeping her home clean, and was an amazing cook; she made the best chile rellenos, spaghetti, meatloaf and many more delicious foods. She loved to watch I Love Lucy and her Spanish soap operas. Yolanda especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
