Tou Pageu Moua, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and Lao-Hmong military veteran passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the age of 78. Tou was born on October 1, 1942 to Pageu Moua and Va Lor in the village of Phoudou in the province of Xieng Khouang, Laos. Tou began his military career in 1961 as a telegram communicator in "America's Secret Army" under the command of General Vang Pao during the Vietnam War. Tou quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1966 where he supervised the telegram communications group in Military Region II. Already a Captain by 1970, Tou graduated at the top of his class from Military Leadership School and was hand selected by General Vang Pao for the General Secretary position in Military Region II. Hard work led him to another promotion as Major in 1973 and the position of Chief Officer overseeing all soldiers in Kongpong Noi. Tou immigrated to the United States in 1976 and resided in Torrance, California for 21 years before settling in Anaheim, California for 23 years. He worked as a machinist for over 25 years before retiring in 2007. Tou is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bylo Moua, three sons, three daughters, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Tou was loved by family and friends for his strong loyalty and wisdom. A traditional Hmong funeral service was held on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 8 am to 5 pm at Weaver Mortuary located at 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, CA 92223. He was laid to rest in a private burial service on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:30 am at Loma Vista Memorial Park at 701 E. Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA 92835. A traditional Hmong releasing spirit will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 8 am to 5 pm at Saddleback Chapel located at 220 East Main Street, Tustin, CA 92780. Family: Wife Bylo Moua, Daughter Maykeu and her husband Cob Vang, Son Toua and his wife Isabelle, Daughter Pahoua and her husband Gnia Yang, Son Cheusa and his wife Mao, Daughter Mayna and her husband Tousua Yang, and Son Muaneng Thong and his wife Chiasia
