Susie S. Giannantonio, 93, a resident of Tustin, CA for 28 years passed away on June 23, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Cristina M. Giannantonio, her sisters Rose Giannantonio and Christina Girardi, and many nieces and nephews. Susie was born in Washington, D.C. on December 17, 1929, where she grew up with her parents and five brothers and sisters. She married Joseph Giannantonio on October 29, 1956 while on vacation in Italy with her parents. The happy couple resided in Maryland for many years before following their daughter to California in 1995. Susie worked in the federal government as a purchasing agent for 30 years, retiring in 1984. She volunteered over 10,000 hours at Western Medical Center, was a member of the Crafty Ladies at St. Cecilia Parish, and was active in the Italian Catholic Federation at St. Thomas More Parish. She was invested in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem in 2010 and was promoted to the rank of Dame Commander with Star.
The Viewing and Rosary will be on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4 PM-8 PM, at Saddleback Chapel Mortuary, 220 E. Main Street, Tustin, CA 92780. The Rosary will begin at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 11 AM, at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, 51 Marketplace, Irvine, CA 92602. Interment will be immediately following the funeral at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Rd., Orange, CA 92869. A reception will be held at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, 12442 Tustin Ranch Rd., Tustin, CA 92782 from 2 PM-5 PM.
