Simon Paul Martinez

November 19, 1979 — May 27, 2024

Simon Paul Martinez, known by all as “Junior”, passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2024, he was 44 years young. Junior was born on November 19, 1979 in Fountain Valley, CA to Eva Marie Ortiz and Michael Martinez. He grew up in Santa Ana.

Junior leaves behind his wife, Linda, who he met as a kid. They dated as teenagers and reconnected again 20 years later. The love they shared was unconditional and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her, only of course after giving her a hard time about it in his own loving & jokingly way.

Junior is also survived by his sons, Andrew and Eddie and daughter Darlene. His extended family Andrew, Angel, Matthew and Aliyah. His grandchildren Jax, Athena, Adrian and Isaiah. Along with his siblings, nieces and nephews, he also leaves behind his beloved Grandmother, Ernestine and Aunt Teresa.

He also leaves behind the many lifelong friendships he made throughout his life, which include his childhood friends, the Raider Goon Squad and most importantly, the large following of his Brand, Southern Gangster. When asked about him, everyone always said the same…he was funny, hilarious, a jokester, outgoing, ballbuster, loyal and wise. His fun sense of humor kept everyone on his toes, no one was safe from his Infamous Roasting. Even his grandkids learned how to roast back. A loyal & avid Raider Fan, he dedicated a whole wall in his home to them, he bled Black & Silver. And let’s not forget his favorite basketball team the Boston Celtics, who he shared the love for with his son Eddie.

A family man, Junior’s greatest accomplishment was his family. His boys were his heart and soul and his “Lil Mija” Aliyah was his soft spot. He called No One by their name and instead had his own name for each of them. He never failed to lend an ear and offer words of wisdom & encouragement when needed…and most importantly always from the heart. He loved a good BBQ, especially on Fourth of July, his favorite holiday. He had a passion for music and he always made a point to celebrate birthdays because “you never know when its your last birthday”.

A void was left in his heart when he lost his mother and most recently his brother and youngest son. The sudden loss of his son hurt more then words could describe. We have comfort knowing he is now reunited with his Mother Eva, Brother Mikey and his son Eddie.
