Rowland William Day of Newport Beach, California, passed away on November 2, 2024, after a short illness. He was 91 years old. Born in Los Angeles, California on September 25, 1933, he was the oldest of three brothers. Rowland was a lifelong businessman, dedicated to his family and his faith. He served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offering counsel with love and grace.
Rowland had a passion for genealogy, sports, puzzles, and gardening, but his greatest joy was his family. He met his beloved wife, Milly, on a blind date while in high school. They were married for nearly 70 years. His example of patience, optimism, and unwavering faith shaped the lives of all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Milly; children, Rowland II (Jaimie), Maureen (Warren Harper), Melinda, and Ann; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by their daughter Valerie, parents, Wilfrid and Zola Day, and brothers Richard and Michael.
A private interment will be followed by a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 3:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Newport Beach Stake Center, Newport Beach, California.
Rowland’s legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
