Ronald “Ron” Richard Brattus, 87, of Tustin, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by the love of his wife and family, Ron passed peacefully at home.

Ron was born on January 29, 1939, in Renton, Washington to Elizabeth Julia Brattus and Albert “Jack” Brattus. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Brattus, and his sister, Joyce Jones.

Ron dedicated more than 50 years of his life to a distinguished career as a metallurgist, a profession he genuinely loved and in which he took great pride. Known for his expertise, integrity, and strong work ethic, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues, clients, and friends throughout his career.

Ron was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Solange, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work, compassion, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His kindness, gentle sense of humor, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew him.

An active and adventurous man for most of his life, Ron especially enjoyed spending time with Solange, sharing many activities and traveling together over the years. Among his greatest passions were sailing and bicycling, pursuits that reflected his love of the outdoors and his adventurous spirit. He was also a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer them on.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his life was rich with purpose, love, and cherished memories. Ron's legacy lives on in the family he treasured and in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, integrity, and unwavering devotion.
