Raymond Allen Blancet was born in White Oak Township, Arkansas on August 30, 1932 to Beese and Lizzie Blancet. He was the youngest of four children with a large age gap from youngest to oldest. His siblings were: John Blanscet, Hazel Fielder, and Jewell Ray. He was close in age with his nieces and nephews: Allen and Alverna Ray, Fayne and Wayne Fielder, Linda, Tommy, and Karyl Kaye Lancet. Ray moved to Fresno California in July of 1948. He graduated from Fresno High in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy. He served from September 1950 to July 1954 during the Korean War. He returned to Fresno and met his future wife Carole Jane Fiuren. They were married on June 23, 1956 in Fresno. Ray was hired by the Santa Ana Police Department on August 8, 1956 and they lived in Santa Ana until moving to Tustin 1968. Ray had four children: Dave, Jim, Andy, and Laurie. He was active and spent time doing may various activities with his children as well as coaching numerous softball teams. He enjoyed his time as a police officer and was often called "RB-21" at the station. For many years, he was part of the Santa Ana Police Department Pistol Team. He went to many matches and won numerous medals, including shooting 100% one time. Ray retired on December 30, 1993 after 37.5 years on the force. He worked part-time security at community college after retirement for many years and loved his visits to the senior center. Ray enjoyed spending time with family, especially he little ones. He leaves behind his children, 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He will be missed.
