Rachel Magallanes

Rachel Magallanes, 96, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on the morning of July 5, 2024, in Newport Beach, CA.

Rachel was born on Easter Sunday April 8, 1928, in Oxnard, CA. She came from humble beginnings, growing up with four bothers and four sisters. She married on August 5, 1950. She raised 3 daughters while starting and working at her own lighting fixture companies. She liked to collect properties and over her life she has purchased over 75 properties. She lived independently for almost 26 years after her husband passed away in 1998.

Rachel was known for her outgoing and very social personality, love of dancing that started as toddler, traveling, trying new restaurants, hosting fundraisers for her catholic parish and political events, love of her grand and great grandchildren, her cooking, wearing white and always looking glamorous with a hat to match. She always made you feel welcome and included everyone, never turning her back or closing her door on anyone.

She is survived by her three daughters, Rachel, Nadine and Christine and their spouses, Chuck, John and Gerald. Her grandchildren, Brittany, Nacole, Tiffany, Joshua, Jordan and Johnathon. Her great grandchildren, Bryson, Blake, Kaedon, Gavin, Liam, Kiera, Summer, and Bowie. She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Magallanes.

A memorial service will be held on August 5, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Newport Beach. Immediately following, burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Rosemead, CA.
