Pat was born in Lost Angeles, CA to Thomas and Virginia Rennings. She was a younger sibling to Malcolm Rennings who was eight years her senior. Pat attended University High School in West Los Angeles; and then went on to receive an AA degree in Theatre Arts from Santa Monica City College. Pat was born into a musical family and always dreamed of going to NY and performing in a theatre production. She got married instead.
In 1956, Pat met and fell in love with Clarence “Larry” Bomer. They were married in 1957 in North Hills (Sepulveda), CA. Pat and Larry had two children together, Michael and Kimberly, and were married for 35 years, until Larry’s death in 1991.
During the early years of their marriage, Pat worked for Adohr Milk Farms in Tarzana, as an Executive Secretary. In 1966, Adohr was sold to Southland Corp, and the business was moved to Santa Ana, CA. Pat commuted to Santa Ana from Sepulveda for 3.5 years, until one day the commute took her 3 hours to get home. It was then they decided to move to the foothills near Santa Ana to a beautiful community called Orange Park Acres. Pat continued to work for Adohr. She was promoted to Credit Manager and held that position until her retirement in 1986, after 25 years of employment.
Pat and Larry fell in love with Orange Park Acres because of its beautiful rolling hills, large land parcels, and the ability to raise livestock. It was a community of 4-H and FFA clubs, and a great place to raise children. They would never leave. Pat became involved in 4-H, and volunteered as a Drama Leader with the Orange Acres Back Breakers 4-H Club. She wrote and directed two productions a year for 20 years, and would often say she was involved with her favorite things, kids and theatre. She also spent her free time supporting the Orange Park Acres Women’s League.
After Larry passed away in 1991, she did her best to keep busy. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren and taking them various places like the zoo, beach, or park. She also had a passion for crafting, drawing and dabbled in stain glass.
In 1994, Pat met a wonderful man named Thurmon “Don” Harris. They fell in love and had a truly special bond. They would enjoy their lives together in retirement by traveling; spending time with family; and being active in their church community at Orange County First Assembly of God, Santa Ana. They married in 2001, and were together until his death in 2017. They were together for 23 years and resided in Orange Park Acres. After meeting Don, Pat felt blessed in inheriting a whole new family to share joy and love. Pat and Don spent many years visiting his family in Fresno and vacationing in Pismo Beach.
Pat will always be remembered for her love and kindness; sense of humor; and incredible empathy for others.
She is survived by her son Michael (Kelly) Bomer of Meridian, Id; her daughter Kimberly (Donald) Constantine of Flagstaff, AZ; her granddaughter Jacquelyn (Johnnie) Garay; her grandson Douglas Bomer; her granddaughter and future grandson Lauren Constantine and Ben Hollinger; her new baby great grandson Beau Hollinger; her grandson Matthew Constantine; her granddaughter Jenna Constantine; her sister-in-law Toni Rennings; her step-son Jerry (Ann) Harris; her step granddaughter Lauren ( Jeff) Jimenez; and her step-son Mikel Harris.
