Nikki Haase-Gerding Stamford

Nikki Gerding Stamford Nikki Haase-Gerding Stamford, longtime resident of Tustin, CA, passed away. She was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1914. She led a very colorful life of a housewife married to LA County Deputy Sheriff, Gus Haase. She raised two children, Bonnie Haase (passed away at age 9) and son, Eric Haase (still alive). Nikki worked for Douglas Aircraft during WWII. Her first husband, Gus, passed away at age 43. Looking to reevaluate her life (loss of husband and daughter), Nikki accepted an overseas position with Douglas Aircraft and the United States Air Force, on a Missile Project-THOR, located in London, England. She was assigned as a project assistant with the company and given a GS-12 rating by the US Air Force (Lt. Col). While on this assignment, Nikki met a staff photographer known as Lou Gerding. They came back to the States and married. They moved to Tustin, CA, and established a photography business which Nikki helped Lou run and manage. Unfortunately, a few years later, Lou Gerding passed away, leaving Nikki to again fend for herself. She stayed active by playing golf, tending to her home, and working with the local business, Tustin Thrift and Loan, and became an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Tustin. At this time, Nikki met Edward Stamford. Again, love struck and they married, until Ed's unfortunate passing a few years ago. Nikki was at home under hospice and celebrated her 101st birthday with family, close friends and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. God bless you Mom! With love...
