Nancy Gillis

Funeral services for Gillis, Nancy Parr age 65, passed away peacefully at her vacation home in Laguna Niguel, California on Friday, June 27th, 2014. A native Californian and longtime citizen of Watsonville, California; Nancy was born and raised in Santa Monica, graduating from Saint Monica's High School. Nancy enjoyed a career in Real Estate, both as an investor and a Real Estate Agent. She was also an X-ray technician and trained Radiologists in the use of CT imaging software. In retirement, she loved travelling, music and dancing and was the first female President of Freedom Rotary Club, former member of Soroptimists, volunteer and supporter of the Santa Cruz County Fair Heritage Foundation as well as other local charities and community organizations. Nancy was a long-time 49er's fan, loved to dive and take underwater photographs. She was fun-loving and especially enjoyed cooking and playing games and sitting on her backyard deck hearing the church bells ring, watching the sunset and enjoying a glass of wine with her friends. Nancy is lovingly survived by her sister Dianne Dewey of Orange County and stepson Kiel Gillis of Sonoma County, California and many wonderful friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in passing by parents Henry and Ruth Parr and beloved nephew, Brian Parr. Visitation and Funeral Services for Nancy will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 2014 at Saddleback Chapel Mortuary, Tustin, California. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM with the Funeral Service beginning at 2 PM. Private Burial services will be held in the future at Woodlawn Cemetery, Santa Monica, California. In remembrance of Nancy and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The American Cancer Society. Funeral Information Visitation will be on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 1-2 pm, with service at 2 pm, at Saddleback Chapel, Tustin. A reception will be held following the service at the family home.
