Michael Brian Kormos

September 15, 1960 — January 7, 2024

Michael Brian Kormos was born on September 15th, 1960 in Fullerton CA to his father Bert Kormos and mother Mary Ellen Foley-Kormos. Michael passed away at his home on January 7th, 2024 at the age of 63.

Michael grew up in a Fullerton neighborhood where as a child he made, and valued, many life-long friends. As he grew up, he remained a local Southern Californian and attended California State University Fullerton for his Bachelor’s degree. He later earned his MBA from Pepperdine University. Michael was active in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at CSUF. As an undergrad, he was a CSUF Titan’s baseball fan, and carried his personal love of the Titan team, and the overall game of baseball throughout his life.

In 1985 Michael met his future wife Lisa, and they married in 1987. They had three sons together – Connor, Devin, and Brendan. Michael’s three decades long career in the financial services industry provided him with many opportunities in both Northern and Southern California. He was a leader in the industry, providing direct services as a Financial Advisor, and in management and program development as his career lengthened. He loved nothing more than investing and educating others in becoming financially secure.

Michael loved traveling and being active. He enjoyed individual sports including running, water and snow skiing, and took great pleasure in being a private pilot. He shared his love of baseball with his boys and he enjoyed coaching all of his sons in the sport. He was so proud of his boys. Michael’s favorite team in the MLB was the Angels. His favorite family travel destination was always Maui, but he looked forward to sharing annual family adventures whether they went to Maui, Catalina Island, Alisal Dude Ranch in Santa Barbara, Europe, or wherever he found an adventure to share. Michael loved his family and his many pets. He was a proud Catholic and parishioner of this church.

Michael is survived by his wife Lisa, his three sons Connor, Devin and Brendan, Step-mother Deloma Kormos, Mother-in-law Rosalyn Robinson, sister Karrin Kormos, her children Katie Terreri, Bridget Terreri, and Luca Terreri; sister-in-law Kathy Kormos, her children Brett Kormos and Adrienne Kluger; his brother-in-law Andrew Robinson, sister-in-law Kristy Robinson, and their children Sarah Walker and Hannah Robinson, along with Michael’s many cousins. He is preceded in death by both parents and his older brother Robert Kormos. He is also survived by the many life-long friends he cultivated in his neighborhood, his fraternity, his work, in coaching, and beyond.
