It was late in the eve, on Friday, September 8, 1972 when Sarah Ann Bobo gave birth to a beautiful, bouncing baby boy in a small town in Arkansas. He was the second born child to his father, Elton Morris who preceded him in death. Elton's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Josephine) Morris also preceded him. Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Mario transitioned and accepted "It's Above Me Now". From his birth and during his early childhood he lived with his maternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Sr. (Sarah) Jackson-Bobo, it was there he learned about Christianity and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a very young age under the pastoral ship of Pastor James R. Rogers at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Mario first began is education at the Elaine Elementary School. He attended the Memphis City School system during his middle and high school years and graduated from Overton High School, Memphis, TN. His dedication to his family and his extraordinary work ethic began at the age of thirteen. As a young man he worked multiple jobs to help support his mother and siblings. His jobs ranged from selling newspapers, working in the fields with his grandmother, to moving and delivering furniture with his Uncle Ricky. Despite his limited time with family, busy work schedule and school, Mario was an avid and talented basketball player. Mario made the decision to join the United States Navy in 1993. He was always fascinated with aviation and navigation. While serving his country, he became a Lead Sailor on the YTT-10 ship, he was in high demand with his crew to operate the 20 ton crane. He also worked with the Marines while in the Navy at El Toro. Mario went from a top sailor to a top jet mechanic. Mario had multiple talents, he loved writing poetry and music. He performed and recorded music with fellow sailor Paul James. He was a motivating factor in the production of their album. They performed in various cities to include Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, and San Diego, CA, on the underground music scene. After leaving the Navy in 2001, Mario began a career with Transportation Security Administration. His time with TSA began at San Diego Airport (SAN). After a few years, he transferred to Atlanta Hartsfield Airport (ATL), during his tenure there he moved up through the ranks and served as acting manager. Mario's direct, supportive, and honorable leadership style made him a valuable resource, and respected by all who knew him. He later accepted a transfer to Dallas Love Field (DAL). Mario with strong family convictions had a strong desire to connect with his son in California, so he transferred to John Wayne Airport (SNA). It was there he met the true love of his life, Jana Drake. They worked side by side to become trusted friends, and on to the dynamic duo of supervisors "The Rogers' " when they wed on August 24, 2018. No matter the relationships Mario acquired or the jobs he obtained, he always approached everything with respect, strength, humor, intelligence, and a quiet-cool swagger. Mario's heart of PURE GOLD, and generosity made him liked and admired by all who knew him. Mario, leaves in God's hands his wife, Jana Drake-Rogers; Son, Stephen M.
