Maria “Mary” Ventigan
April 16, 1932 – September 22, 2024
Mary Ventigan joined her creator on September 22, 2024. She was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Ramon Astom Sr (deceased) and Juana Agosto (deceased). She was the eldest followed by four brothers: Ramon Jr (deceased), Fernando, Artemio (deceased) and Emilio (deceased). She worked in the family restaurant serving hungry patrons and chasing after customers who “forgot” to pay the bill.
In 1954, she graduated from the Centro Escolar University with a degree in BS Pharmacy. She passed the board exams the following year. She worked for awhile at the Bureau of Internal Revenue where she met her future husband, Juan Ventigan (deceased). After a few years, she became a stay at home mom. She is survived by her daughters Maria Lourdes Ventigan and Ana Liza Ventigan, and joins her daughter Joan Geraldine Ventigan (deceased).
Mary was 36 years old for the longest time. ER nurses and doctors will believe this until one of her daughters would correct her. She was a loving wife, a doting mother, a chef, a ballroom dancer, a generous ninang (godmother) to nieces and nephews, a life coach, a stylist and fashion designer, an orchid and plant mother, an eager traveler and tour guide, a fan of Filipino soap operas, a careful listener to friends, a happy cheerleader of the weary, a prayerful, devoted and faithful servant of God.
We all remember her for her warmth, kindness, calm spirit, joyful disposition, sense of humor and her priority objective to ensure that everyone leaves the house well fed. You will forever be in our hearts and minds. We love you and miss you always.
