Louie Muniz Louie Muniz , 67, of Irvine, California passed away peacefully in his home on April 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary, plus their 7 children, Louie C. Muniz, Michelle Hidalgo, Greg Muniz, Tony Muniz, Jennifer Ramirez, Stephanie Suarez, Scott Muniz, and 15 grandchildren. Born and raised in Santa Ana, California, Louie attended Santa Ana High School where he was a star track and field athlete. He continued his education at Santa Ana College, earning an A.A. degree and helping lead the track and field team to multiple state championship titles before joining the Army in 1967. Upon completion of his service, he was an accomplished carpenter for 25 years and then worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2004. Louie is also survived by two sisters, Louisa Gutierrez and Rose Arnold, and his brother, Julian Muniz. Funeral Information A Rosary and viewing will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Saddleback Chapel located at 220 E. Main Street in Tustin, California. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m at St. John Neumann Catholic Church located at 5101 Alton Parkway in Irvine, California, followed by interment at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery in Orange, California.
