With a heavy heart, we invite you to join us in paying tribute to Jesus' remarkable journey. Jose de Jesus P. Plascencia, (Chuy) 75, died on June 4, 2024 surrounded by his family in Santa Ana, Ca.
His faith and perseverance were evident in everything he did, and Jesus faced his battle with Throat cancer in exactly this way.
Originally from Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, but migrated and settled in Santa Ana, Ca. Born to Jose V. Plascencia and Maria de Jesus G. Plascencia on Dec. 24, 1948, he was the 4th of 6 children. (Carmelo, Roberto, Guadalupe, Ma Elena, Martin)
Jesus attended school in Leon, Gto. Mexico and at the age of 16, he left home and traveled to Tijuana Baja Calif. to seek employment. In Tijuana he found employment and built a lifetime friendships with Carlos and Teresa De Anda.
With time Jesus moved to Santa Ana and met the love of his life, Simona (Madrid). Jesus and Simona married and enjoyed 48 years of love and devotion. They watched their children grow, experiencing exhilarating highs and difficult lows of being parents and grandparents.
Jesus, at his very core, was a family man. He provided security and balance, and although he was stoic and strict, he was honest and straightforward.
With a good attitude towards work, Jesus was employed in various business. In 1977 he found employment with the Santa Ana Unified School District grounds department where he was employed for 34 years until his retirement.
Jesus valued time and travel with his family over everything else. He loved traveling over land and on cruises. He traveled in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Hawaii, Mexico, South America, England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Jordan, Israel, and Egypt. Trips with the grandchildren to Disney World were memorable.
At the end of the day, Jesus thoroughly loved Sunday brunches, outings by the beach, and people watching. He enjoyed sitting under an umbrella, listening to Mexican music and having a cigarette.
Jesus is survived by his wife Simona, his children Gabriel and Rebecca(Humbert Marquez), grandchildren; Matthew, Scarlett, and Bella, brothers; J. Guadalupe, Martin, sister Ma Elena, and various sisters in laws, nephews and nieces.
