Randy Ocampo

Irineo "Randy" Ocampo, III, was welcomed to his eternal home on March 21, 2025, at the age of 58 in Santa Ana, CA. Born on February 6, 1967, in Angeles City, Philippines, he was the beloved son of Lucita and Irineo Ocampo, Jr. He grew up in the vibrant province of Pampanga alongside his six siblings: Emilie, Corinna, Garnette, Louie, Sharon, and Majalia.

Randy was a gifted artist with the extraordinary ability to bring scenes to life in mere moments. His artistic talent led him to pursue architecture at the University of the Assumption, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture in 1990. Through his exceptional talent and dedication, Randy won numerous design competitions. His passion for architectural design and storytelling culminated in his involvement in his university’s architectural newsletter, eventually becoming the paper’s Vice Editor. During this time, he met his wife, Zenen Borja Ocampo. After six years together, they married on March 24th, 1994. They had one daughter, Ranzen Borja Ocampo, born September 27, 1997, in Angeles City, Pampanga.

In 2001, Randy and his family embarked on a new chapter, moving to the United States. There, they raised their daughter and eventually became naturalized citizens in 2013. Randy's older sister, Corinna, and niece, Kaylen Ocampo, joined them in California in 2002, adding new dimensions to their growing family. Together, they established deep roots in the city of Santa Ana.

Throughout his architectural career, Randy contributed to an extensive portfolio of projects for a diverse range of clients, taking on the role of Project Manager for many. His notable clients included the Hudson Group, Harley Davidson, and various private entities. A lifelong learner and dedicated mentor, Randy found immense joy in sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.

Randy was a man of many passions and wore many hats—both figuratively and literally, as he had a fondness for sporting memorabilia, especially hats. During his family’s time in Micronesia, he was selected to play competitive table tennis on behalf of the Federated States of Micronesia’s National Olympic Committee. A devoted child of God, he was an active congregation member at Newhope Assembly of God Church, where he served as a youth pastor and participated in the church choir as both a singer and instrumentalist. He lived a fulfilling life, devoted to uplifting others and the communities around him. He was known for his vast collection of stories and wisdom, which he always shared at the opportune moment. Beyond being a loving father, brother, son, and companion, Randy embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a deep appreciation for culture, movies, and sports—especially baseball, football, and basketball—along with a love for video games and building model kits. His kindness extended beyond people to animals; in recent years, he dedicated time to caring for and helping manage stray cat populations in his neighborhood.

Randy’s unwavering faith in God guided him throughout his life, and he found joy in rejoicing in His teachings and sharing them with those around him. He will be remembered as a fiercely kind, patient, and devoted son, husband, and father who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Zenen Borja Ocampo, and their child, Ranzen Borja Ocampo. He also leaves behind their cherished family cats Bean and Laki Ocampo; his parents, Lucita and Irineo Ocampo, Jr.; his siblings, Corinna, Garnette, Louie, and Majalia; and his nieces and nephews, Kaylen, Cyril, Jaziel, Nicole, and Kevin. Randy’s kindness and compassion left an enduring mark on the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit and legacy will live on forever. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family and dear friends who had the privilege of knowing him.
