Hien Thi Pham

Hien Pham, age 97, passed away in her sleep on July 9, 2021. She is survived by her four children (Hung Nguyen, Ha Nguyen, Viet Nguyen, and Mai Nguyen Brooks), as well as seven grandchildren (Maily Nguyen, Guillaume Nguyen, Audrey Nguyen, Huy Nguyen, Jim Nguyen, Robert Nguyen Brooks, and George Brooks), and two great-grandchildren (Ethan and Yannis).

Hien was an outstanding pharmacist. Her accomplishments were particularly amazing, given the circumstances of the Vietnam War. She fled North Vietnam when the country was divided into two, leaving everything behind. Then in 1975, she again fled South Vietnam, when it was taken over by the Communist regime. Again, she left behind all her material possessions and started again from nothing in California.

Hien was a devoted wife and mother. She was a strong woman, and all of her children look up to her and value her opinions. She was an inspiration to everybody around her, with her steely resolve and compassion for all. Hien now joins her deceased husband (Son Nguyen). As she peacefully leaves this earth, her memory will remain in our hearts forever.
