Gunda Schroeder

Gunda Schroeder passed away on August 1st, just before her 90th birthday. She lived a full and vibrant life, having experienced the challenges and triumphs of her era. Born in 1934, she lived through the hardships of WWII. In her twenties, she bravely moved to Canada on her own, where she met the love of her life, Rudi Schroeder. Just five months after meeting, they were married and began a beautiful journey together until cancer took him from her.

In 1963, she moved with her husband and child to California, where she would spend the rest of her life, growing her family to add a daughter. Known for her adventurous spirit, she traveled frequently with friends and to visit family well into her 70s. Afterward, she cherished her time at home, surrounded by friends and family, including her six beloved grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, finding joy and peace in nurturing her plants. Her friends loved coming over for her famous Oktoberfest celebrations, a testament to her love of good company and great times. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs, who were always a part of her family.

Her stubbornness was well-known, but it was her deep love for her family that truly defined her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
