George Grayson, age 75, passed away at home in Anaheim on October 13, 2019. He is survived by his wife Leslie, daughters Kimberly and Jenna Grayson, sister Sharon Ashley, and brother Frederic Grayson. George was born in New York City and grew up in Queens. He served his country in the Coast Guard Reserve. In 1969 he married Caryle Scarbnick and they had two beautiful daughters, but later divorced. In 1979 he met Leslie, the love of his life, and they were married in 1982. George had a successful career in sales before becoming and executive recruiter in healthcare, opening his own firm in 2002, which thrived up until his retirement. Into 2006 George converted from the Jewish faith of his youth to Catholicism. He was active in Bible study, RCIA, Knights of Columbus, and choir. He made his Cursillo in January 2008 and met with his "groupies" every Saturday until his health no longer permitted. George loved sports and a lifelong dream was to become a sports announcer. He could often be found at an Angels game doing the play-by-play, (to the enjoyment or chagrin of those seated nearby!) George enjoyed music and every weekend performed at nursing homes entertaining the residents with his singing. He never turned down the opportunity to get up on a stage! Later in life George was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Degeneration and ALS, neither of which defined him. He met the challenges this presented with his own determination, and the love and support of his family, living life to his fullest capacity, maintaining his interests in sports and music and never losing his capacity for having fun. George's family wishes to gratefully acknowledge his caregiver of three years, Tanner Mattson. We also thank his caregiver Gerald, his hospice team; Ana, Sharon, Sakhira and the other members, our dear friend Yaya, and the wonderful ALS team at the VA, all of whom provided invaluable care to George. The family thanks all who have offered their support and sympathy during this time. Those wishing to may make a donation to ALS OC weboc.alsa.org or the FTD association theaftd.org
