Gage Bauer

August 12, 1996 — December 30, 2015

Our beloved son Gage Jonathan Bauer died at home on December 30, 2015. He was born in Dalian, China on August 12, 1996. Gage was our precious son, brother and uncle. He had a delightful sense of humor which brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. He loved his family with a depth that was reflected in his pride and protectiveness. His diverse group of friends became his second family as he shared his life and faith with them. Gage graduated from Tesoro High School in June of 2015 and had just completed his first semester at Irvine Valley College at the time of his death. He had not yet declared a major, but his interests were wide ranging as he considered careers in business or medicine. He was fluently bilingual in both English and Mandarin which suggested career possibilities in international business.Gage was a follower of Jesus and a committed member of Saddleback Church where he served in children’s ministry and on the video team for worship services. Through the Saddleback PEACE plan, Gage traveled on mission trips to Rwanda, China and Mexico sharing his faith vividly as he empathized with those less fortunate. Gage is survived by his parents David and Barbara Bauer, his sisters Beck (Aaron Brewer), Christine Perkins (Gregory) and his brother Jacob. He is also survived by his nieces Camellia Ann Perkins and Poppy Eileen Perkins, aunt and uncle Mary and Jerry Ochoa, aunt Carol Berman, cousins Rachel Ochoa (Shannon Rivers), Jessica Hendrix (Justin) and Jerry Daniel Ochoa. Gage played lacrosse for Tesoro High School, Arnold Beckman High School and the Saddleback Stars club team. After scoring a goal, Gage celebrated by raising his stick like a rifle and shouting, “Twelve Gage.” He also swam competitively on the Northpark Riptide swim team. Funeral services for Gage were held at the Refinery at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA and he was laid to rest at El Toro Memorial Park 25751 Trabuco Rd. Lake Forest, CA. Gage will forever be in our hearts.
