Funeral Services for Don Milton Donald A. Milton, a longtime resident of Santa Ana, peacefully passed with family by his side on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Western Medical Center, Tustin, following a brief illness. He was 87. He was born August 24, 1925 in Golden, Colorado, the youngest of four children born to George and Bertha (Olson) Milton. He served with the U.S. Army's 104th Infantry Division during World War II in Japan and the Philippines, and in the Merchant Marines where he was a member of the first unit to train on Catalina Island. He married Margaret Weaver on January 27, 1947 in Grass Valley, Nevada, and shared 66 years of love and devotion. Don worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the County of Orange for 26 years and retired in 1984. Never one to sit still, Don was known in the community for his daily 5-mile walks, gardening, woodworking, and as a jack-of-all-trades who always had a project. He received numerous volunteer awards for his work at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Yorba Linda. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Tustin for 50 years. Don leaves behind his beloved Margie, and their children Bob and Marie (Jensen) Milton; Elbert, Colorado, and Steve and Mary (Milton) Sharp; Fallbrook, California. He was also a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Funeral Information His life will be celebrated with a funeral mass on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Tustin. He will be buried with full military honors on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego.
