Doña Clare Thompson

On October 12, 2022, Heaven gained an Angel of Happiness when our dear friend and family member, Doña Thompson passed away peacefully in Tustin, California. Growing up in El Segundo and attending El Segundo High School, Doña carried the honor of being crowned “Ms. El Segundo” in 1976 and 1977. She later continued her passion for theater and music at both El Camino & Santa Monica Community Colleges.

Always one to want to make others smile, it was only natural that Doña soon made a very rewarding marketing career at the “Happiest Place on Earth” – Disneyland. She later transitioned into the medical field and remained as a medical assistant for the next two decades, undoubtedly helping countless patients through their anxieties with her cheerful disposition. Doña and “the love of her life”, John (also with the Disney Company), spent almost 26 wonderful years of marriage before John’s passing in 2014.

Doña is survived by her brother Steven Stevenson and his wife, Rosa, nieces Amanda and Elizabeth, stepson John (Laura) Thompson, step-grandchildren Andrew and Joshua, and an extraordinary group of friends. Anyone that was blessed to spend time with Doña knew what an outstanding personality she had. Her warm, funny, and compassionate nature are unmatched, and will be missed by all.
