Carolina Ortiz De Lopez

September 25, 1955 — March 11, 2024

Carolina Ortiz Lopez was born to Nicolasa and Rafael Ortiz on September 25, 1955 in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 68, on March 11, 2024 at her home in Garden Grove, Ca.

She is survived by her husband Jesus Zemudio Lopez, they were married for 53 years. A mother to her four children, and grandmother to her many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all who she loved dearly.

She worked everywhere in Orange County and really was a Jack of all trades. From cleaning baby incubators at the Garden Grove hospital to working in housekeeping at Disneyland. In her younger years she'd also worked at a special ed. school as a teacher’s aide in Santa Ana. And she did cleaning and janitorial work in a clothing factory in Anaheim, before finally retiring. She had an amazing work ethic all her life.

She had a loving and giving heart, and was a completely selfless person. If she saw that one of us needed anything she wouldn't hesitate to help in any way or form. She loved to cook and showed her love to us by always wanting to feed us, and I believe she made some of the best Mexican food that I've ever had! We all knew she was having a good day when she would be listening loudly to her old Mexican songs. She had a knack for telling her stories, and her laughter and humor that I will always remember.

She was the strongest woman I have ever known. And she wanted to keep learning. We were all surprised by her when she studied and passed her exam to get her U.S. citizenship just two years ago. That's the type of person that she was, and she never wanted to stop.

Towards the end of her life she had been battling with health ailments for some time. It made it hard for her to get out, and do the things that she'd enjoyed doing before. We made it a goal to visit her often and keep her company. She would greet her grandchildren with open arms, and of course with some of her delicious food.

She always kept her family in her prayers. Today I pray that Jesus Christ is holding your hand, and that you are now at peace, and pain free. Till we meet again, I love you mom.
