Augustine Cecile

December 28, 1943 — January 29, 2024

LE, Augustine Cecile gracefully entered eternal life and into the warm embrace of Jesus Christ on January 29, 2024, enveloped in the love of her cherished family.

Born on December 28, 1943 in Saigon, Viet Nam, to Luong Van Nam and Le Thi Ba, baptized as Augustine Cecile, she was affectionately known as Cece or Meme to those who loved her most. Her extraordinary journey was marked by unwavering love for her family and profound connections with everyone she encountered. Cecile is now reunited in Heaven with both her parents, and her eldest brother, Raymond.

Left to carry her legacy are her devoted husband of 56 years, Đức Le, and their children: Paul and wife Tammy Le, Louis and wife Evelyn Le. Cecile’s love for her grandchildren Ethan and Tristan Le, Kylie, Breylon and Desmond Le were a source of joy and inspiration. She is also survived by her sisters: Therese, Rosalie Cuc, Madeleine, and her brothers Joseph, Peter, Matthieu, along with respective families.

Baptized into the Catholic Church at birth, Cecile attended French Catholic School of the Order Saint Paul de Chartres in Saigon where she received all of her sacramental formation. She had a profound devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary and deeply loved her Catholic faith. She was an active participant in parish activities, involved in the Mass choir, and found solace and joy in her daily recitation of the Rosary. She embarked on religious pilgrimages, and was a committed participant of the Cursillo movement, always nurturing her faith with grace and dedication.

Beyond her faith, Cecile radiated sweetness and love, consistently reaching out to those in need. She loved Korean dramas, cruises, exploring new destinations, savoring good food, and playing with her grandkids. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, a nurturing mother, affectionate grandmother, caring sister, fun aunt, and a treasured friend. She touched countless lives with her infectiously generous smile and even more generous heart.

A celebration of Augustine Cecile’s love-filled life will take place at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
