Arva Lou Lamonica-Moss

Arva Lou La Monica-Moss, 91, passed through the veil on February 1, 2024 to rejoin God and her family and friends. Born June 6, 1932 to Jesse Rae Cox and Hazel Virginia Williams in Helper, Utah she was enthusiastic in her pursuit of the happiness of her family and of all those around her. Her family included her sister, Gayle Darlene Ward and her brother Ray Max Cox, both deceased, and her sister Judy Rae Tripaldi of Phoenix, AZ.

With her first husband, Joseph B. La Monica, Arva gave birth to sons Larry, Kevin, and Lee La Monica and was devoted to her sons throughout her life. After Joseph she was married to Edwin D. Fuhr and then finally to her high school sweetheart Theron A. Moss. She outlived her husbands, but lovingly and individually cherished her 3 sons, 12 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren and all other family members.

As a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Arva had a deep and abiding testimony of Jesus Christ. She expressed her love and gratitude for Him in word and deed. She would cheer up the sad, include the lonely, comfort the sick, and give to those who lacked, bore the burdens of others, and generally tried to make everyone around her happy. She was generous to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike. Her Christmas parties in her home saw large numbers of people and will be remembered for their hospitality. She was a most sociable person. Her home was a welcoming place and a shelter for family trying to get established in their lives.

She took in her aging parents and cared for them in their final years. Her sons observed her devotion to her parents and to her husband Theron Moss and, in turn, her sons cared for her in her final years. While her memories faded and her hearing impaired communication with family and friends, she retained her cheeriness, her ability to play her favorite games, and her abiding love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She passed over into a place where she can again commune freely with family and friends and enter into the peace made possible by Christ. Her example of love and service in this life will be remembered and cherished by her family and friends.
