Arthur Collins Schick III Former Santa Ana Policeman Arthur Collins Schick III , 64Irvine resident Arthur Collins Schick III died peacefully in his sleep at age 64 on February 7, 2014 after a long illness. Known to family and friends as 'AC,' he was a policeman in the City of Santa Ana for 14 years before medically retiring. His family has owned and operated Schick Moving Storage, a visible business landmark off the I-5 Freeway in Tustin for over 58 years.Born in Davenport, Iowa, AC moved with his parents Art Schick, Jr. and Beverly Schick to Santa Ana when he was six. His dad, a World War II naval officer, started the family moving business and Allied Van Lines agency when Orange County was still relatively small and filled with orange groves. After graduation from Santa Ana High School in 1967, AC attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and Pepperdine College in Los Angeles, California where he belonged to fraternity Beta Chi Sigma. In the summer, he and a friend would drive the Schick Allied moving and storage trucks across the U.S. While at Pepperdine, AC attended the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Reserve Officers Academy where he graduated at the top of his class. But his heart was back home in Santa Ana and he was approved for a lateral transfer to the Santa Ana Police Department. After medically retiring from law enforcement, AC obtained his Customs Brokerage License and started Schick International Forwarding at Los Angeles International Airport. AC was living in a residential care facility in Fountain Valley at the time of his death. He is survived by his mother, Beverly, and his two younger brothers: Dr. Steven Schick and Gordon Schick. AC will be fondly remembered by all who knew him as a gentle and humble man with a quick wit and great sense of humor, and was a long-time member of Saddleback Church. He and his friends enjoyed his boat and fishing. He was a talented cook, a loyal friend and was still in touch with many colleagues and fellow police officers at the time of his passing. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2-5 PM at Saddleback Mortuary in Tustin. The family is planning a private memorial service. ##### Funeral Information Visitation will be Sunday, February 16th from 2 pm until 5 pm at Saddleback Chapel, Tustin. Burial will be private.
