Amanda Cruz Lopez

On Friday, October 7, 2022, Amanda Lopez, loving wife, mother, daughter and friend, passed away at the age of 40. Amanda was born on November 30, 1981 in Orange, CA. She received her undergraduate degree in liberal studies along with a teaching credential in elementary school from Cal State University, Long Beach. It was at CSULB where she met her husband, Danny Lopez. The two wed on July 26, 2008, and together had three children, Benjamin, Camila and Juliana. Amanda was a teacher at both Buena Park and Santa Ana Unified School Districts for several years.

Amanda was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school, both in the classroom and for special events. It brought her great joy to decorate her home for the holidays and to squeeze in a date night with Danny. Amanda also encouraged her children to excel in school and to perform community service like beach cleanups. Additionally, she enjoyed outings such as shopping and taking her kids to the library and zoo. Amanda was known for her beautiful smile and kind and compassionate spirit.

Amanda is survived by her husband Danny and three children, her parents Catalina and Antonio Cruz and siblings, Myra Duncan and Michael Cruz.
